Alycia Sellman
Co-Owner & Lead Designer
Hello!
My name is Alycia Sellman, co-owner of Dahlia Design Remodel. I handle the design and administrative side of our business. I have a strong visual perception of space and a knack for pairing unique patterns, textures, and colors with extremely functional layouts. I work hand in hand with our clients to create timeless spaces that are true reflections of who they are.
I’ve had a love of all things art and design since I was a little girl. Growing up you would most likely have found me watching HGTV, redecorating my parent’s house, or camped out in the school art room when I wasn’t busy playing basketball. Interior design has always been at the top of my interest list, but I initially steered my career path in a different direction with the goal of making myself more marketable and versatile in the business focused world. I went on to get a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, as well as a bachelor’s degree in arts management and a minor in Photography from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay with summa cum laude honors.
I started down a few different career paths after college, ranging from assisting the Art Coordinator at UW Hospital with art galleries to restoring homes with Paul Davis, working as a graphic designer, and helping put together wedding décor with wedding planners. During that whirlwind of a time, I somehow also managed to find my way back into the world of interior design with kitchen remodeling. When it came time to narrow down my work focus, I decided interior design is my true passion – so why not make a career out of it? I transitioned from working part time to full time for a small local remodeling company where I expanded my skillset in remodeling operations and got to know Jesse.
That leads us to where I am today. Jesse and I have been successfully transforming homes together for many years and look forward to continually taking our remodeling projects a step further with Dahlia Design Remodel. I like to keep life interesting for Jesse with my unique artistic visions for our projects and he always finds a way to make it possible while taking the execution to the next level.
When I’m not at work, I’m doing almost the exact same thing at home. Planning… designing… chasing a toddler… and convincing my husband we should do “just one more” remodeling project in our own home.
