Sugar and spice make everything nice ~ and so do money-saving decorations.

The holiday season is drawing near and it’s time to browse the seasonal decorations invading our senses. I’m sure all of us have wandered the isles trying to figure out which items we want in our home, soon realizing that the price tags are not in our favor. Luckily, we’ve got some advice to save you time and money when shopping for your decorations. Which festive items are prime candidates for overall holiday use, specifically between Thanksgiving and Christmas?

I’m sure all of us have wandered the isles trying to figure out which items we want in our home, soon realizing that the price tags are not in our favor. Luckily, we’ve got some advice to save you time and money when shopping for your decorations. Which festive items are prime candidates for overall holiday use, specifically between Thanksgiving and Christmas?

One of the best decorations to use as a holiday focal point are candles. If you can find a neutral base and add touches of color around the candles, you can create just about any masterpiece you could think of. Flameless, battery-operated candles can be flattering for continual use if you’re looking for a timeless option that doesn’t pose the risk of flammability. Choosing a candle that has a classic, warm waxed look will be most versatile for Thanksgiving and Christmas decoration options.

Centerpieces are high up on the list as well, and we’re thinking specifically about floral variety. Floral centerpieces are flexible in their neutrality which makes this a great contender for our blog topic. The Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays commonly use color schemes of red, so selecting floral pieces such as Poinsettias, red berries, and various burgundy options will add depth to your centerpiece. You can also use these tips when it comes to decorating with garlands and wreaths.

Next up – pumpkins! We know what you’re thinking, “Aren’t those more of a fall thing?”. When it comes to physical pumpkins from the patch, yes. However, we’re thinking about the pumpkins you can craft yourself! Using color schemes of white, gray, green, and red are perfect for this crafty idea. Not to mention the personal touch it adds to your space, along with well-earned bragging rights.

Other seasonal touches you can use include pinecones and acorns. Seen commonly outside throughout the fall and winter seasons, this creates a great opportunity to bring nature-inspired elements into the home. These decorations can be found in all types of shapes and sizes along craft store shelves.

Last but certainly not least, we’re adding throw pillows to the mix. Picking pillows that have overarching beige or intermediate palettes are what we recommend for this specific topic. Pops of color can be specific to your seasonal preference, but you need filler colors to make these the accent they are meant to be. Your bundle of neutral pillows will be perfect for year-round use.
